Cut to the outline of the continent in solid oak or teak, 20mm thick, finished food safe. It started as an offcut experiment and turned into the piece people ask about first.
Because each one is cut from a single board, the grain runs differently through every piece. No two are the same, and none of them can be.

What goes into a piece matters as much as what you see on the outside. No veneer over chipboard. No filler under a finish that hides more than it shows.
We work in oak, ash, kiaat, teak and blackwood, one piece at a time, to the size you actually need. That is slower and it costs more, and it is the reason the thing is still here in twenty years.

How it is made
Every piece is cut, joined and finished in a single small workshop in Cape Town. Not a production line, not a container from overseas.
The timber is bought rough sawn and stacked to settle before a blade touches it. Wood that is rushed moves later, and a table that twists in its first summer is nobody's idea of an heirloom.

The hook rail and key rack are cut to the actual skyline of the mountain, in solid oak and kiaat with forged or brass hooks.
The same profile runs through the range, at hallway length or shorter for keys by the door.

Come by the workshop and spend an unhurried hour with the pieces you have had your eye on. Feel the timber, compare the finishes, and talk it through with the person who made each one. No pressure to buy, no clock running.

Measured our alcove to the millimetre and the table fits like it was built into the house. Because it was.
